Our Weekend in Pictures

Off we went. Kensie got a new house key Friday night. This is her  new fancy  key.

Mady got this crown at Burger King, and she wore it around for two days.
It's a permanent staple in her fancy wardrobe.

As it turns out, if you read my Oh Life post, Zach does not need eye glasses after all.

Mady designed  this very special Chicago Bears inspired Chili Pepper.

I chilled and enjoyed my 'Flannel' candle from Bath & Bodyworks.

Ordered some new Cheer-Gear for the girl.

You probably read in my ohlife post, we found out Zach doesn't need glasses on Saturday.
The rest of the days were crazy and I have been trying to write this blog post all day...
I'm just happy it's back to school tomorrow.
+ Sad that I have no pictures of my boys this weekend.
I'll have to take some tomorrow morning!

June would like a refill. She wants the weekend back.

Oh Life

I started using "Oh Life " again recently.
For those of you, who have never heard of it, it's basically journaling.
A little different than blogging and I just really like it.
If you can respect my nerdery for just a second ha ha ha! - and hear me out...
I don't know, I just think this is kind of cool.
They send you an email saying, "How was your day?"

And you write freely to yourself. It keeps an organized log and you can look back on it.
It could be anything you want. Major venting or just one sentence. It is completely yours.
It could be extremely helpful and therapeutic for some. I think all moms need this.

You can share it if you would like or if you choose not to, then that is fine too.
I enjoy doing this.
Sometimes I go on and on and sometimes I just make sure I put something down.
I thought I would share the "excitement" this week. ;)

Zachary had his first eye exam today. He doesn't need glasses at all. 20/20.

Today I volunteered in first grade for the first time this year. Oh, it is great to be back in the classroom, helping out with the littles. It's very different, this year.
First grade is serious business!
My friend, Heather, also volunteered in her daughter's K class,
so she hopped over and helped me finish up the math workbook pages for Miss Wells.
Let me tell you it goes a lot faster when the helper has a helper!
Miss Wells loves to have me tear out those workbook pages!
As for my photo project with the kids, it needs work. Next week!

Mackensie's first JV game was tonight.
Cobras lost to the Z- Hills Bulldogs, but she did great out there!

Hump day! Had the same thing for breakfast + dinner today. *shrug*

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

It's Tuesday! Mady just read me four books. I'm feeling so bloated and crampy. (Kidney) I made corn soup today and went to Starbucks. Helped my friend Heather clean out her rental car.
Now I'm very tired! Goodnight!

Monday, August 26, 2013

Monday, Monday. I saw a hashtag today that said :
on Monday's we wear pajamas. I kinda like it. :)

Sunday, August 25, 2013

Pretty good Sunday so far! I'm loving Sunday night tv lately so the best is yet to come!
Returned John's work truck today. Wah! It looks so weird in our driveway without it sitting out there.
Took the kids shopping at the mall today and Mady Bunji Jumped there!

Kensie ran private cheer practice at the park on her own today. - I guess it went well.

Saturday, August 24, 2013

Really great Saturday! I almost just wrote Sunday! The three little kids went with John's mom to help Grandma Lucius move. Seems like they had a great time. They each came home, of course, with a little trinket from Grandma L and she even paid them to help her move!
She didn't have to do that, but they are just over the moon about it.
They also got to go to Macdil AF Base and see where John has been working.
Kensie had the HHS Cobra Cheer Car Wash & Flapjack Breakfast at school this morning, so I had to drop her off at school around 7:30. So, John and I headed out to Breakfast Club - our favorite little breakfast restaurant here in town, and we sat and had breakfast out together alone this morning, and then did a week's worth of Grocery shopping.

Our friend Heather and her kids joined us for bacon burgers tonight for dinner. They all just came back home from their summer vacation, and it was really nice. It's been a great weekend so far, and I keep catching myself rushing it, and thinking today is already Sunday.
I think it's because my shows all come on Sunday night!
Lol but I have to remind myself to slow down and just keep still.
Drink today in, because tomorrow will come all on its own.

Friday, August 23, 2013

Very quiet and relaxing Friday today! I finally sat down and watched Grey's Anatomy Season 9 episodes 1,2,3 & half of 4! Score! Had dinner with the family at Texas Roadhouse and got some yummy new goodies (spent too much money) at Bath & Bodyworks. And enjoyed a scrumptious fall festival in my mouth, a caramel apple spice from Starbucks!

Happy Weekend!

Thursday, August 22, 2013

Pretty good. I started blogging again, in addition to this and I am pretty excited about it.
My washing machine broke today... but John said it is only going to cost maybe $5 to fix it.
So, no laundry for me today! I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Ha.
We managed to get a walk in with dogs before the rain today. Miracle.
Poor Kensie has been gone all day since a little after 6 am, when I dropped her off at the bus.
First varsity game tonight. She wasn't cheering, so we didn't go, but she had to be there.

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

I'm so excited! John is downloading season 9 of Grey's Anatomy for me! I want to get all caught up before the two hour season 10 premiere in October!

So check out ohlife and give it a try.
You don't have to share it with a soul or you totally can.
It's yours to do as you please with it.

Goodbye, August!

Mackensie's Game

All in all Kens had a pretty great first game, I think.
My girl looked good out there!
There were some corrections...
But, for all of these firsts that went on the other night, the team did well.
As I said before, It was Mackensie's first time calling cheers.
For many girls, it was their first time cheering a game, ever.
Cobras didn't win unfortunately, Z-Hills took it.
But, it was still a good night.
+
Here's Mady, showing her Cobra Pride the next day.
I called home during half-time, because these games run past 10:00 PM
and I just can't have my littles out that late on a school night, so John sat this one out and he stayed home with the kids. I called home to say goodnight and I told Mady that I bought her a tattoo.
"A needle one?" No... a stick on one...
* long pause *
"Oh.... Okay!"
I thought, "Are you disappointed, or?" Hahaha!

Love List

My favorite Fall things.

1. Well, first of all, these three new pictures from yesterday.
I am missing a few kids here in the picture taking, today and lately.
A. Because, Justin is feeling a little bit under the weather +
he didn't want my camera in his little face today. Fair enough.
B. I did manage to get some pictures of
Mackensie in her Cheer uniform  last night,
because she has first game tonight, and
this is her first year being JV Captain,
and she is pretty nervous about a few things
like when to call a cheer, and the mechanics of football..
This being her first go at this, I figured I wouldn't add fuel to
the fire by making her even more nervous by walking
in their with the big black box attached to my face.
Sometimes it's nice to just be present at a function too,
and not be "on" as a photographer. ;)
........  Mom card! Yes!
Anyway, back to those few pics I am loving from this morning.

Zach.
Mady.
Mady.
Pretend you see the Justin here.

2.  My  big girl/baby girl, Mackensie, is cheering her first game
as JV Captain tonight.
She is very nervous.
So many firsts on going on right now.
She has never had this responsibility set on her shoulders before.
It is up to her when to call a cheer, and what cheer to call...
It's a very overwhelming and exciting time for us both.
Watching this little love grow and change has been beyond bitter sweet.
I just know she will do awesome out there tonight,
and I hope she knows she makes her mama proud everyday.

Ladies & Gentlemen. Boys & Girls. I present to you, for the first time ever...
Your HHS 2013 JV CAPTAIN!!!!

Can you sense the enthusiasm?  ;)

3. THIS

This is our very first Halloween decoration of the year. Mady brought it home to me yesterday,
and I can't wait to hang it up! I love Halloween so much. It is one of my favorites.
I just love the little spider. I think it's so sweet.
And I think she did a pretty good job on the web too!

4.  The kids and their reading habits lately
It's a new year. A clean slate. A fresh start.
My Zachary, (5th Grade) He has never been one for reading. :\
But, this year, he seems to be doing okay with it.
He is reading his 30 minutes of required time every morning.
Seems to be working for him.
His brother, Justin, (4th Grade) is the exact opposite.
HE adores to read.
Justin has already completed two novels in two days,
and took tests on both books and aced them both! #proudmama
Madison love love loves to read.
She learned 600 words between the start of Kindergarten
and the end of Summer and now is learning all new frequency words,
they call them in First Grade. She brings home five books per night
and almost reads all five on her own, nightly.

Before school started, we read "First Day Jitters"
and we used 'Jitter Glitter' to shake those
silly jitters away!

"Jitter Glitter"

This is a red fruit punch hand sanitizer from Bath & Bodyworks. It has blue glitter in it,
so that made it really fun and Mady loves the punchy scent of this.
It's not too strong smelling, either. :)

5. Speaking of Bath & Bodyworks...
All of their fall goodness right now.

In case you're interested in smelling like you just slide off of a
Thanksgiving table... you just use these + a CAS from Starbucks!

School Days, School Days!

Mady and her little bestie at school today.
All those new school clothes and she still opts for the Hester Jersey.
I think it's time for a new one!
